Approved applicants are expected to receive their electronic authorization within 24 hours.    The system began a pilot program for travelers from the four countries in September 2025. A South African official said around 216,000 applications have been processed so far, with 6,126 suspected fraudulent applications rejected.    The ETA system is currently available at international airports in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. The South African government plans to extend the system to land and sea ports and gradually expand it to more countries and visa categories.                                。
